The red-stained interior wall of the bell is not a new fashionable phenomenon.
The illustration shows a bagpipe with a red painted inner wall at a ring race in Dresden (Daniel Bretschneider 1591). This picture inspired me a lot to take up the style from this 500-year old painting and make it a distinguishing feature of my instruments.
